Svedka Vodka
Bodega Girls’ “Walk Of Shame”
The 2011 Svedka Vodka ad campaign “Walk Of Shame” features the Bodega Girls song of the same name. Written by Bodega Girls and produced by Jake Brennan and Adam Taylor, the song crashes the party held by the Bee Gees and Queen with modern party favors. The lyrics also feature the real-life walk of shame stories from some of Svedka’s most ambitious imbibers. We’ll let ArjanWrites.com fill you in on the details.
“Loud and proud Boston alt-pop outfit Bodega Girls likes a good challenge and the assignment presented to them by SVEDKA was right up their alley. The spiffy vodka brand asked the group of self-proclaimed “tricksters, hedonists and good-for-nothings” to record a song to go along with their new advertising campaign that is centered around the idea of the “walk of shame.” An experience that can be both dreadful and oddly energizing.
SVEDKA asked fans, consumers and other party people to share stories about their own “walk of shame.” The company opened up a confessional and the stories poured in on Facebook and Twitter with people coming clean about why they wore that sequined shirt in the 8AM board meeting, why they didn’t make it home until 4PM in the afternoon or why the heck they woke up pool side with two strangers and some floaties.
Inspired by all the wild and rambunctious tales of last night and the groggy walk of shame that follows the next day, Bodega Girls tell their epic tale from last night in their own unbridled and bare-knuckle fashion. The result is a bassy post-disco stomper that will not only spark a smile, but will also have you march that walk of shame all over again – always responsibly, of course.”
